The job

Customer Relationship Advisor £20 - £21K per year + 22 days holiday + 8 days bank holidays,  SSP pay, Eye and hearing tests,

Immediate start available
Full Time Permanent contract, Monday to Friday (40 Hours)


What you can expect from the role

This is an existing role within our Commercial Team. You will be part of a small internal sales/customer service team, who assist our external sales team and provide additional customer service to our large base of loyal customers, mostly independent builders’ and roofing merchants.

You will be working at our Swadlincote premises, where both our office – including an open-plan sales office – and production facilities are located.

We are seeking someone who enjoys working in a busy sales office and is flexible to support us when needed to cover for other jobs and activities at our manufacturing site.


What you will be doing

On a day-to-day basis you will be answering general and specific customer queries via the telephone and email. You will be receiving orders and processing transactions and you will pro-actively reach out to our existing customer base to assist the Commercial team to deliver the Company strategy and to ensure that KPI’s are met.

What you will be responsible for

  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales and after-sales service;

  • Assessing customer needs and providing solutions;

  • Achieving sales KPIs on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis;

  • Pro-actively seeking new business by targeting a combination of existing customers and prospective customers by utilising CRM and Sales information;

  • Working alongside External Sales to meet KPIs within your designated area to meet with budget expectations;

  • Answering inbound sales calls and queries;

  • Providing suggestions for future marketing campaigns and customer promotions;

  • Collaborating with the Commercial Team to provide feedback on market activities and provide recommendations on improving all customer related activities;

  • Processing orders, providing regular updates of progress to your customers and managing the progress from initial enquiry to completion;

  • Liaising with the Production and Sales teams;

  • Dealing with customer queries in a professional manner;

  • Ensuring all phone calls, emails and fax requests are dealt with in a timely and professional manner;

  • Providing excellent customer service and support to customers;

  • Building relationship with customers;

  • Assisting with the coordination of new business as well as ensuring existing customers receive exceptional service at all times;

  • General office support.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent customer management skills;

  • Ability to prospect, negotiate and close sales, basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices;

  • Excellent internal account management skills, including customer service and internal support;

  • Basic computer literacy and keyboards skills; NVQ in customer service desirable but not essential.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Time management skills;

  • Effective listening skills;
